Lead Electrical Engineer
San Antonio, TX

H2MG, LLC has an immediate opening for a qualified Lead Electrical Engineer in our San Antonio office. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, collaborative team player and self-starter who takes ownership of the projects to which he or she is assigned. The qualified candidate will be responsible for initiating and developing electrical drawings and specifications from inception through completion for assigned projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical load calculations, lighting calculations, short circuit calculations, and energy budgets
  • Design electrical distribution systems, power systems, lighting systems, emergency power systems and fire alarm systems utilizing AutoCAD, BIM/REVIT
  • Advise and mentor electrical staff
  • Manage/coordinatemanpower with Project Manager to meet project deadlines
  • Work with project manager to monitor and meet project budget
  • Collaborate with other members of the MEP design team to coordinate the design effort
  • Research code issues and work with City, State and County officials to ensure designs are code compliant
  • Review shop drawings/submittals to determine compliance with design drawings and specifications and recommend any necessary changes
  • Perform site observations and provide written reports
  • Respond to RFIs in a timely basis
  • Communicate directly with clients and maintain client relationships
  • Attend and participate in project meetings with owners and clients

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited institution
  • Licensed as a Professional Electrical Engineer in the State of Texas, or can obtain quickly through NCEES
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in municipal, educational, commercial, and institutional projects
  • Project experience from proposal and inception to design, construction, and post-construction phases
  • Generate high level cost estimates
  • Should have experience fostering and building client relations to foster future repeat work
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-driven environment; ready to pitch in to help meet a deadline
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Word-processor, Excel, AutoCAD, and BIM/REVIT proficient
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
